The EV-04 Pendant Locate is designed to be used by people with dementia or learning difficulties.

The EV-04 Pendant Locate is a 4G, compact device designed to find people who wander because they have dementia or learning difficulties.

Equipped with GPS tracking and a multi-network SIM, the device connects to the strongest available mobile network and sends location updates to Mindme’s secure platform every few minutes.

The EV-04 Pendant Locate also includes Wi-Fi connectivity. When connected to a known Wi-Fi network, the device will use Wi-Fi to send data to our platform instead of relying on the mobile SIM. In areas with poor mobile coverage, such as inside a home, this ensures the device can continue reporting in even if the mobile signal is weak.

When the EV-04 Pendant Locate can detect its charging dock we are able to confirm that the device is ‘at home’. The device can also be configured to detect known Wi-Fi networks to confirm its location which is particularly useful when it is indoors, where GPS accuracy may be limited.

The EV-04 Pendant Locate usually has the buttons on the device disabled but, if the person with the device would like SOS alarm call capabilities, then they can be enabled and the alarm button will start a two-way conversation with our highly trained response centre operators, who can see the device's location and provide immediate assistance. If and when necessary, the alarm button and the ability to turn the device off via the buttons can be disabled remotely.

You choose what personal information you give the Response Centre together with next of kin and contact details which may be needed in an emergency. You can change your personal details at any time.

Caution: This device contains magnets. Do not wear it around your neck within 6 inches of a pacemaker.

Features of the EV-04 Pendant Locate

• 4G Connectivity – Connects to 4G networks, automatically falling back to 2G in areas where 4G is unavailable.
• Compact & Lightweight – Measures 61mm x 44mm x 16mm and weighs 53 grams.
• Multi-Network Connectivity – Uses an international, multi-network roaming SIM to connect to any available mobile network.
• Always-on GPS Tracking – Provides location data with an accuracy of approximately 10 metres.
• Regular Location Updates – Sends location data to Mindme’s platform every five minutes when moving and every ten minutes when stationary.
• Remote Toggling - Supports remote toggling between alarm and Locate modes.
• Wi-Fi Connectivity for Indoor Use – automatically connects to a configured Wi-Fi network:
  • The device will use the Wi-Fi network to send data into the Mindme platform.
  • If no mobile network is available, the device will use the Wi-Fi network to send an automated call to the response centre to alert them that an SOS call has been activated if the device is in Alarm mode.
• "At Home" Detection – Connects to its charging base station, or can use Wi-Fi* to confirm when the device is at home.
• Emergency SOS Alert – If the device is in Alarm mode, pressing the SOS button initiates a two-way voice call to Mindme’s 24/7 response centre.
  • Note: If an alarm is triggered via Wi-Fi, two-way voice communication may not be available if no mobile network is present.
• Fall Alarm** – Optional feature that detects and alerts in the event of a fall.
• Enhanced Audio – Improved speaker for clearer sound quality compared to the original Pendant Locate.
• Long-Lasting Battery – Operates for around 48 hours, although regular daily charging is recommended.
• Easy Drop-In Charging – Simple charging base station with no fiddly connections.
• Low Battery Alerts – Configurable via the Mindme platform, sending email and/or SMS notifications at 20% and 10% battery levels.
• Perimeter Alerts – Optional feature with notifications when the device enters or exits pre-defined areas.
• This device is not waterproof. Please do not wear it in the shower, bath or swimming pool.

* Wi-Fi Networks – If a service user does not have a Wi-Fi network at home, Mindme can supply Wi-Fi plugs which can generate networks which the devices can detect. Please note: these Wi-Fi networks cannot be used for internet access.

** The fall alarm sensor uses an accelerometer to distinguish between “hard” falls and normal everyday movements. Like many similar devices on the market, it cannot guarantee detection of every fall, as its performance depends on where the device is worn and the level of shock or impact experienced during the fall. If you do fall and are able to press the emergency button, you should do so immediately.
