The 4G Wrist Alarm
The 4G Wrist Alarm is a small personal alarm worn on the wrist.
The 4G Wrist Alarm is a small personal alarm worn on the wrist rather than around the neck or kept in a pocket. The wrist alarm tells the time, tells you the date, tells you how many steps you have made today and tells you the battery state. The wrist alarm also has a panic button.
The device incorporates GPS and uses the mobile phone network to send location information to Mindme's platform. Mindme uses a multi-network SIM to ensure that so long as a mobile network exists the device will always stay connected. The wrist alarm will update its location around every 5 minutes.
When you activate the alarm an operator in Mindme’s Response Centre will answer the call. Your details and your location will appear on their monitor and you can talk to them. The operators are highly trained and experienced in answering calls for help from people who have had an accident, feel unwell or otherwise need help. You can learn more about the response centre on the Response Centre page.
Charging the Mindme wrist alarm is very easy. Instead of a dock you use a magnetic bar which ‘locks’ against the back of the wrist alarm. It only takes about an hour to fully charge the battery.
Features of the 4G Wrist Alarm
- 4G Connectivity: Connects to 4G networks, automatically falling back to 2G in areas where 4G is unavailable.
- Compact & Lightweight: Measures 53mm x 30mm x 14mm (excluding strap) and weighs 45g.
- Reliable Connectivity: Uses an international, multi-network roaming SIM to connect to the strongest available mobile network.
- Always-on GPS Tracking – Uses GPS to generate location data with an accuracy of approximately 10 metres.
- Regular Location Updates – Sends location data to Mindme’s tracking platform every five-minutes.
- At Home: Rather than relying solely on GPS (which can be unreliable indoors) the 4G Wrist Alarm can use known Wi-Fi networks** to determine when it is at home.
- Emergency SOS Alert – When the SOS button is pressed, a two-way voice call is initiated with Mindme’s 24/7 response centre.
- Optional Fall Detection* – Automatically initiates a voice call to the response centre unless cancelled by the user.
- Optional Health Sensors – Monitors heart rate, blood pressure, temperature and blood oxygen at scheduled intervals.
- Health Alerts – Triggers alerts if sensor readings fall outside pre-defined boundaries.
- Long-Lasting Battery – Operates for over 24 hours; daily charging is recommended.
- Auto Power-On – Automatically turns back on when connected to power if the battery was fully drained or the device was turned off.
- Easy Magnetic Charging – Simple, hassle-free charging with no fiddly connections.
- Low Battery Alerts – Configurable via the Mindme platform, sending email and/or SMS notifications at 20% and 10% battery levels.
- Perimeter Alerts – Get notified when the device enters or exits pre-defined areas.
- This device is not waterproof. Please do not wear it in the shower, bath or swimming pool.
* The fall alarm sensor uses an accelerometer to distinguish between “hard” falls and normal everyday movements. Like many similar devices on the market, it cannot guarantee detection of every fall, as its performance depends on where the device is worn and the level of shock or impact experienced during the fall. If you do fall and are able to press the emergency button, you should do so immediately. You can learn more about fall alarm accuracy on our Fall Alarms information page.
** Wi-Fi Networks – If a service user does not have a Wi-Fi network at home, Mindme can supply Wi-Fi plugs which can generate networks which the devices can detect. Please note: these Wi-Fi networks cannot be used for internet access.
